The virtual
power station concept combines the advantages of
decentralised generation of power and heat and cooling respectively with
the opportunities of the liberalised power market. The participants of
such an energy
partnership form an own balance group and jointly enjoy the
advantages created by the network in the power market. They shorten the
value chain of the established utility industry for their own benefit
and act like an independent, cooperative energy service provider. We
offer this concept also to operating companies and owners of other power
plants.
The virtual power station:
The virtual power plant enables the fulfilment of the individual
demand for electricity through a combination of own generation,
third-party procurement or external purchase. GWE merges all locations
virtually in an independent utility company (virtual power station)
through power and natural gas transmission networks and coordinates the
entire energy management and energy
portfolio management on demand – from the purchase of primary
energy to the safeguarding of supply in case of outages, and from the
coverage of peak demands and the supply of balancing energy up to the
successful marketing of surplus energy.
